Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety


Q.    Are You required to have a Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety qualification?


Funding is available for Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety courses under the Government program to eligible persons and is delivered in one of the following ways.

  • 1 monthly visit to the workplace where one course subject is completed each month
  • On-line with the support of your own facilitator


  • 5 days straight (Monday to Friday 8.30am – 4.30pm)
  • 3 days one week followed by 2 days the following week
  • 1 day per week over 5 weeks
  • ½ day training session per week spread over 10 weeks

NB: All assessment tasks are completed in class time when using the above training delivery method however there must be a minimum of 5 participants for the class training.

The course may also have an on-site workplace component to the training.

Total number of units = 10

  • 5 core units plus
  • 5 elective units of which: at least 3 units must be from Group A below
  • the remaining units may be from Group A or Group B below
